Andrew grew up on a farm in southeastern Wyoming, and from a very young age was eager to answer his calling to enter the funeral profession. Andrew attended the University of Wyoming where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. After graduation, he moved to Fort Collins, Colorado where he began his career in the funeral industry. He worked full-time at a funeral home while attending mortuary school at Arapahoe Community College where he earned his degree in mortuary science. Andrew quickly excelled in his career by leading and managing a funeral home location at a young age. Andrew left the industry for a short time only to be drawn back to the work he loved. He moved to Kansas City and continued his career in the funeral industry; however, Andrew noticed something was missing within the funeral community. In order to best prepare himself to start his own business, Andrew enrolled in the Executive MBA Program at Rockhurst University. Andrew then was able to turn his dream into reality to establish Laurel to help serve the unmet needs of families in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Andrew lives in Fairway, Kansas with his wife Becky. In his free time he enjoys traveling, golf, and spending time with family and friends in Colorado, Wyoming, and Missouri.

Imagine a loved one just passed away. In addition to the emotional crisis of losing a family member or friend, multiple decisions will have to be made that day. What about a funeral? Did they want to be buried or cremated? When will the service take place and how do we coordinate all the details? Who will write the obituary, notify family and friends of the death? These are just a few of the many details that need to be taken care of immediately when a loved one passes away. In the following days to come, more questions will need to be answered. Laurel is here to help guide you through this process so you can focus on what matters most, grieving the loss of your loved one.
Furthermore, have you ever seen a family member try to navigate the months following the loss of their loved one? They are probably asking themselves where they get additional death certificates and who do they send them to? How do they notify financial institutions and credit card companies without losing potential benefits? What bills need to be transferred or put on autopay? Laurel has seen firsthand how traumatic dealing with the business and practical side of death can be. Laurel values and fulfills the need of having someone there who is willing and able to help the living family members continue their journey forward during this difficult process.
